CUSelect was created for one simple purpose – connecting consumers with credit unions that offer great products and exceptional services.

What do we do at CUSelect?

Many people know credit unions are different and offer great rates but may not know how to join a credit union to take advantage of these benefits. That’s where we come in – we built a unique finder that helps you not only find a credit union you can join, but also compare products to make sure you get the best deal!

We’ll show you credit unions where you’re eligible for membership and the products they offer so you can find what you need without having to worry about whether you can join. Just enter a little info, and we’ll do the rest.

What exactly is a credit union?

Not-for-Profit

Credit unions are not-for-profit organizations that exist to serve their members – not to maximize corporate profits. They provide a safe place to save and borrow while offering higher savings rates, lower loan rates, and lower fees.

Member-Owned

Credit union membership was once available only to select groups of people based on employer, geographic location, or other group affiliation. The great news is that now, just about anyone can become a credit union member!

Who is Student Choice?

In 2008, a group of leading credit unions saw a need for a better private student loan – one that was actually in the student’s best interest and honored the credit union philosophy of putting members first. In response, Student Choice was founded – a credit union service organization dedicated to helping credit unions offer families fair-value student lending and refinance solutions with straight-forward advice.

In 2020, we saw another need – making it easy for everyone to benefit from the benefits of borrowing and saving with a credit union. We built CUSelect to help families connect with our partner credit unions for more than just student lending. We apply our core values to help consumers find products that fit their unique borrow and saving needs!

How do we make money?

We do not charge fees to consumers to use our finder. Users can sort by rate and terms, or view the full list of all our credit union partners, at any time. We may, however, earn a referral fee from the featured lenders displayed in search results, which could impact how participating lenders appear. We work with participating credit unions to help them process applications based on each credit unions’ underwriting criteria and interest rates.
